This is a key session on our retirement planning programmes and we always aim to begin our retirement planning seminars with this session. The reason for this is that it acts as a framework from which all other sessions follow.

On this session we explore the four major areas of importance for everybody planning for retirement. These key areas are Health, Relationships, Financial Planning, and Managing Time. The session is conducted through a combination of lecture and group participation, being totally cogniscent of the latest thinking on adult education.

The key learning objectives from this session for participants are:

• To identify and understand the key areas of importance in planning for retirement.
• To assist each participant to develop plans to manage any challenges they identify for themselves.
• To provide practical information and guidance for participants to assist them in dealing with areas of importance to themselves.
• To recognise how their retirement might impact on those in their lives and to work together to achieve successful outcomes.
• To recognise retirement as an opportunity and not a threat.
